Raskob Learning Institute Clinic
Raskob Learning Institute (RLI), established in 1953, is one of the oldest continuously operating programs for children and adults with learning disabilities in California. RLI’s outstanding educational therapy service provides highly individualized diagnostic-prescriptive teaching. Students can receive remediation in a variety of areas, including reading basics, comprehension, composition, and math as well as assistance with study and organization skills.
While clients typically meet with clinicians in quiet, private rooms at our clinic located on Holy Names University campus, our services are flexible. Clinicians may also meet with clients at their school site, as well as at their homes. An additional fee is attached to services rendered off site.
Educational therapy sessions typically occur after school, but may take place during the school day. Each session is 55 minutes and students are typically seen twice a week. Some students are seen daily. RLI operates year round with three semester sessions: Fall, Spring, and Summer.
My daughter is a whole different student because of the summer she spent with you. I will be forever grateful!

Raskob has taught [my son] strategies that he will take with him to high school and beyond. He is more confident, self-assured, and knows how to compensate for his disability.

While we appreciate all the support that Raskob provides for children to prepare them for middle school and ultimately high school, we are mostly concerned that [our child] has the experience Raskob has already provided her in terms of school and learning—caring support that encourages positive risk taking towards her development, increased understanding regarding her own particular needs, appropriate and tailored academic and intellectual challenges, and a holistic approach to learning that fosters her innate curiosity and desire to explore and try new things. For these gifts, thank you so very much.

I so appreciate having the time to talk with each of [my son’s] teachers and hearing about the curriculum, goals, and objectives of each class. I could really feel the strong sense of commitment, dedication, and clarity for the needs of each student, and a cohesiveness amongst the staff. It is comforting for me to know that [he] is in such good hands…

I like Raskob because there is a lot of outdoors and really good teachers. They teach you how you need to be taught. When you need these things they give them to you. They give separate attention to each kid and there are very few kids in the class so you can get a lot of attention. 5th grade student
I really like Raskob because I get to spend time with my friends and the teachers are really nice, and the kids are, too. I like learning here because it is fun and the teachers know how to teach kids with dyslexia. 4th grade student

High school is different from Raskob, but I really like it. I am using the strategies I learned and am doing great!
