1. The application period for the 2008-09 academic year begins on October 1, 2007. No application materials will be accepted before this date.

2. A complete application to Raskob Day School is as follows:

  • A completed admissions application form
  • An application fee of $100.00
  • A letter of introduction in which the student's interests, talents, and current academic challenges are discussed
  • Recently administered (within three years) individual ability and achievement testing (e.g. WISC III, WJ III, WIAT)
  • School records (e.g. recent report card)
  • Individualized Education Plan (IEP or 504 plan) if available
  • Speech/ Language, Occupational Therapy testing and other additional information which would enhance our understanding of the student, if available
  • A recent photo
  • Financial aid information if a scholarship is needed (see Financial Aid Information)

To ensure that Raskob Day School is able to meet the needs of each student, each applicant is given careful consideration through the admissions process. The admissions committee carefully reviews each application, and in order to truly assess the appropriateness of placement, a complete file is needed. For this reason, please note that only a complete application will be reviewed.

3. After reviewing the admissions packet, Raskob will contact you via mail to confirm whether or not the application is complete and if additional information is needed.

4. Shortly thereafter, Raskob will inform you if a general screening has determined the suitability of our program to meet your child's needs. If so, we will ask for a signed release of information to talk to professionals who have worked with your child. We will also provide you with teacher questionnaires that must be completed by your child's current teacher(s).

5. You may wish to attend an Open House on November 15th at 7:00pm, December 9th at 3:00pm, or January 13th, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. to listen to a presentation about the Raskob Day School program and receive a tour.

6. After an apllication is complete, family observation days may be scheduled mornings in December and January. You must call 436-1275 x 2 for an appointment. Observation days will include classroom observations and an individual interview with one of our administrators. Participation in observation days is optional, but if you are interested we encourage you to schedule an appointment early because space is limited.

7. Student visits will be scheduled in December. Students will spend half a day in Raskob classrooms and depart before lunch.

8. The last day to submit application packets for priority admissions is February 165, 2008. Because of the large number of openings this year related to our high school expansion, we will continue to accept applications throughout the spring and summer. If we are unable to review a late application (one that is submitted after February 15, 2008) because all openings have been filled, your $100 application fee will be refunded.

9. Applicants will be notified of our admissions decisions on March 7, 2008. Decisions will be made based on the appropriateness of the student for our school program and the order in which the admission materials were received. Students in Raskob Learning Institute's after school educational therapy program may be given precedence in the admissions process. A waiting list will be established for students for whom there are no available openings. Applicants on the waiting list will be contacted if an opening occurs.

Please understand that due to the large volume of requests relating to admissions, we are unable to respond individually to each inquiry. You will be notified via mail as to the status of your application.
